Discover Your Ability
Now in it's sixth year, Able2B’s Discover Your Ability event brings mainstream children together with children with special educational needs (SEN) in shared, confidence-building activities designed to challenge assumptions and celebrate strengths. By pairing children side by side, the event creates natural opportunities for collaboration, friendship and mutual understanding, allowing differences to be seen as abilities rather than barriers. Through positive, supported experiences, Discover Your Ability helps change perceptions at a young age, showing that true inclusivity is about belonging, respect and recognising the potential in every child.
Get ready to explore and uncover your hidden talents and abilities in a fun and interactive environment!
Discover Your Ability is the perfect opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills, and challenge yourself in a supportive and encouraging setting. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, there's something for everyone at this event.
Located at The Close, Norwich NR1 4AA, UK, this event promises to be a day full of excitement, inspiration, and growth.
What is DYA?
DYA (Discover Your Ability) is a challenge that pairs up mainstream and SEN pupils with the aim of reducing the stigma around disability.
After a series of two team building workshops at the Able2B gym between May and June, the pair complete a challenge that involves biking, using adapted bikes if necessary as well as some frame runners.
We have access to a wide range of bikes to ensure that all children can participate. In addition to the biking, the participants complete a walking, running or pushing (wheelchair users) challenge.
The event is to celebrate & educate about inclusivity. Participants are encouraged to get sponsored for their challenge.
