Overview: 1 in 5 of the UK population has a disability. Many lack confidence with physical activity and are unable to access quality services to build confidence and improve their function. Previous poor experiences in accessing fitness options decreases confidence further and disempowers the individuals to get involved in community sport and fitness, leading to poor general health and day to day ability. 

There are many different types of disability-learning, physical and behavioural and therefore becoming confident with this client group without prior experience, training and expert support can feel daunting or potentially costly.

By the end of the workshop, the learners will be able to: - Define the different types of disability and their challenges. - State the benefits of being inclusive. - Practice adaptations to accommodate a range of disabilities.
